The Pro Patria Institute of the ISAMAA Party was founded in 1995 as a non-profit voluntary organization that  provides political, economic and general cultural training based on centre-right thinking.

The main aim of the Pro Patria Institute is to disseminate and promote centre-right ideology and the principles of the social market economy and a united Europe.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

  • CO-OPERATION – we unite representatives of the party’s different regions, age groups and organisations. We involve well-known opinion leaders in our leadership and activities.
  • RESPECT – Each person is unique and can enrich the organization – we value everyone.
  • INTERACTIVE DEVELOPMENT – people develop best through interaction with others – we learn from each other.
  • FLEXIBILITY – we adapt our activities in a changing time and space.
  • COMPETENCE – we value knowledge, skills and experience.

For me Pro Patria Institute is an excellent outlet for arranging, editing and attending quality conferences, seminars and publications. An added bonus is the international relations and contacts. Pro Patria Institute is a good opportunity for training in conservative world view and self-development.

Politician and entrepreneur. 1994-1995 Minister of Economy of the Republic of Estonia. 1999-2002

Minister of Roads and Communications.

Pro Patria has borne and promoted the right-wing world view since regaining independence. I have had various roles in my life but Pro Patria has always been a firm support and inspiration – naturally thanks to our good people as well as friends from the wide and constantly changing world.

Events marketer

The goal of our Pro Patria Institute is to be an inspiration and way of self-determination in the nervous daily politics. The discussion circles that it brings together are based on European and Christian mindsets, which need more attention in today’s Europe than ever before. Likewise, in Estonia.

Head of Public Relations in private sector

For me Pro Patria Institute is the bearer of continuity. Continuity is the backbone of the bridge connecting different times – a constant. PPI has been there throughout the changing Estonian political landscape and independent of the name its parent party has borne at any time. Pro Patria unites people and thoughts in Estonia and abroad, searching for and defining the world, in which conservative, patriotic and Christian Democratic minded people would feel good.

The various think thanks affiliating to different political parties play an important role in European cooperation and integrating by uniting politicans from national and international level.

The Pro Patria institute has throughout its 20 years of existence proved its sustainability and its role as bearer of national-conservative ideas.

The most important resource of the voluntary citizens' organisation Pro Partia is its members. Clear value based world view coupled with inspiration and creativeness in training, publishing, research activities and in social campaigns and international cooperation form the starting point of shaping the policies.

I am convinced that Estonian parties need value based think thanks that would contribute to shaping the political culture and explain the basics of ideology based politics and by that also enriching the society. Successful democracy functions through different ideologies and world views.
